We take it for a spin and tell you, if it is worth the buck? Read further as the mystery unfolds. The Verito Vibe retains all the design aspects of its sedan sibling till the C-pillar, post which it gets a hatch-like rear. The long LED tail lamps are stylish and even the rear gets some more chrome. The alloy wheels are now champagne in colour, making them a lot more stylish. The roof-railings however, we believe shouldn’t have been added on the Verito Vibe, or could have been optional. View offers on Mahindra Cars from Mahindra dealers in /Hyderabad at Autozhop

Starting from the front fascia, there is a bumper which is in body color. There is a radiator grille which has a surround with a chrome application. Below it sits an air dam that is wide for cooling the engine and a pair of fog lamps are present on either sides of it which will help in better vision. Its side profile has mouldings and along with these, the external mirrors also are present in body tone. Side cladding can be seen over the doors which also contribute to its looks apart from giving protection in case of any collision from sides. Over the roof, we can find a set of stylish rails. On the rear end, there is an applique which holds the model name with grace. It is also bestowed with parking lights that are used for reverse parking. In order to alert the other vehicle’s about this car’s presence, a high mounted stop lamp is fitted to the roof in the rear end. A wiper with 2 speed plus 1 speed intermittent is fitted to the front windshield. While the top end trim has been blessed with a pair of alloy wheels, rest have steel wheels with wheel covers.
Mahindra Verito Vibe Interior & Space
Now we have talked a whole lot about the exterior styling of the car now let’s talk about its interiors. The new Verito Vibe interiors looks more like its sedan the front dashboard looks similar to the saloon Verito with the typical two tone black and beige color in it. Although the instrument panel have been taken directly from the Verito sedan along with the Seat fabrics. Coming to the seats the Verito Vibe can easily accommodate 5 adults inside its cabin. The front seats are spacious and are comfortable whereas the rear seats are also impressive and easily can accommodate 3 adults. The Vibe is absolutely spacious and has plenty of leg and headroom at both its front and rear. Some of the other features which are available inside the cabin are provided below:
– Large 330 litre Boot Space – Widest Backseat with 3 Adjustable Rear Headrests – Quadra-tone Dashboard with – 2 DIN Music System with CD player, MP3, USB, AUX – Quick Cool AC with Ergonomic Controls – Multi-directional Circular AC Vents – Front Dash Parcel Shelf with Chrome Accent – instrument Panel with Multi-information display – Electric ORVM Controls
One thing might disappoint everybody is that there is no steering mounted controls even in the top end variant of the Verito Vibe. The rear boot opening is too small and as a result of those loading and unloading heavy goods might cause a big problem and there is also no switch or lock to open the rear boot door from outside the car.
Mahindra Verito Vibe Engine & Transmission
The Verito Vibe uses the same engine as on Verito. Vibe is offered only in a diesel engine trim as Mahindra don’t have a smaller petrol unit to haul this car and at the same time avail the tax benefits of a sub 4 metre car.The Verito Vibe comes across as a decent commuter with no excitement. It can be a weekday solution from home to office kinds. This one is powered by a 4 cylinder 1461cc dCi CRDi Diesel engine. This unit produces a peak power of 65PS at 4000 rpm and a torque of 160Nm at 2000 rpm. This not just any sedan cut into a hatchback project by excusing the extreme third box. In the Verito Vibe, the third box has been reduced to the maximum limit. The overall length of the Verito has been brought down from 4277mm to 3991mm but the wheelbase stays intact at 2630mm. The Kerb weight of the Vibe has shot up too by 15 kgs.
Some issues which were seen in the Verito have been repeated in this smaller version too like the cabin is still not insulated and the growl of the diesel engine is evidently audible inside. Even the functioning of wiper or the power windows appears very crude and basic. The diesel unit however scores well in terms of power delivery. It displays very minimal lag and performs very well in stop go traffic. The gear shifts are not as smooth as the one in Swift DZire but then even the one on Amaze appears notchy. The notchy gears are well complimented by the smooth clutch which comes handy in traffic flooded areas. On highways, the Vibe lacks the punch especially at higher engine speeds. It cruises very well till about 130 kmph but then after crossing it the engine begins panting hard and the efforts taken by the diesel unit get evident. Overtaking is not difficult. The steering is not very smooth and thus maneuvering can be a bit of an issue.
Mahindra Verito Vibe Driving Dynamics
The Verito Vibe’s suspension settings remain unchanged from the sedan’s, so it exhibits all the same characteristics. It has a very pliant ride, which leads you to believe that it will not handle well, and when you tiptoe through a corner, you discover that beyond the body roll lies quite a lot of grip. And beyond that grip lies very progressive understeer. Even the steering contributes to this feeling – it is a little vague when pointing straight and feels unreasonably heavy sometimes at parking speeds, but push the car through a corner and it weighs up really well, communicating exactly what is happening under the front wheels and elevating driver confidence to the point where you can find the understeer at the limit. It isn’t the best driver’s car in its segment, but it certainly gets our vote for the best balance between ride and handling.
Mahindra Verito Vibe Braking & Safety
Apart from ABS and EBD, this trim comes equipped with an airbag on the driver side which reduces risk of injuries at the time of accidents. The collapsible function of the steering column helps in avoiding injuries to the chest during collision. Fixed seatbelts are available in the base trim but the high end trims come with adjustable front seatbelts. Apart from these, an immobilizer is mated in all the variants of this vehicle. It helps in freezing the engine at the time of unauthorized entry to the vehicle. The rear doors are integrated with child lock system which makes this vehicle child friendly

Mahindra Verito Vibe Bottomline
The Verito Vibe is a puzzling car – it offers great space in the cabin but a boot that is not very practical. The plastic quality isn’t the best in its segment, but the ride and handling compromise certainly is, even though it isn’t even trying to be a driver’s favourite. It retails at approximately Rs 6.6 lakh, ex-showroom, which means that it competes directly with the likes of the diesel Figo. Of course, it being a Mahindra means that spares will be inexpensive, and service will be available in most, if not all, corners of the country. If you value cabin space and the ability to carry five full-sized adults in comfort but don’t need brand value or a boot, the compact Verito will certainly give you good Vibes.
